Mayo Clinic Platform Accelerate, the Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO), Kicker Ventures, and the Mayo Clinic Berg Innovation Exchange are hosting 13 promising Japanese companies, participating in the U.S. Healthcare Immersion Program, for an evening of global networking and big ideas.

Each company will have three minutes to pitch their solution and attendees will be among the first to hear about groundbreaking advancements in healthcare technology.

Tatsu Shiono

Executive Director of JETRO Chicago

Tatsu Shiono has supported Japanese SMEs’ overseas expansion since joining JETRO in 2003. He worked at JETRO London from 2011-2015, followed by a role at Japan’s Cabinet Office as Deputy Director for Abenomics policy planning. After leading global startup initiatives at JETRO HQ, he became Deputy Director of JETRO Chicago in June 2025, where he supports Japanese startups in life sciences and manufacturing and strengthens Japan U.S. economic cooperation.
